The 9th annual Big Valley Race and Festival NEO cyclocross | kids races | trail ½ marathon | cross county mtbr race | Jamis demo bikes | beginners clinic | Specialized demo bikes | open ride preview | limbo contest | bunny hop contest | crate stacking | women specific demo bikes | good times The one weekend of exclusive trail access will be returning for its 9th year building on the successful two day festival format. The event is located on the 600 acre Camp Manatoc Boy Scout Camp located in Peninsula, Ohio; (15 minutes from downtown Akron and 25 minutes from downtown Cleveland) This camp is located within the confines of the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) and is 1 mile from the historical Ohio/Erie Canal Tow Path Trail that stretches from Cleveland to Akron and beyond. The first day is an 'open riding day' but begins with an early morning trail ½ marathon running race. Afterwards, the trails open up to the mountain bikers for open riding. Our local IMBA advocacy group, Cleveland Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA) holds group rides and an educational riding clinic with a focus on beginning mountain bikers and women. Mid-day hosts an array of kids-oriented activities including kid's races, safety reviews and games. The afternoon winds down with the first race of the NEO Cyclocross series from 2:00-5:00.
In addition, a demo loop is set up for manufacturer's demo bikes so that riders of all abilities can ride and feel the new technology where it was intended; on the single-track trail. Representatives from Jamis Bicycles and IDUTRI with be on hand with demo bikes for you to test and ride. The Women’s specific trailer of bikes from Specialized will also be present giving the ladies specific bikes to demo.
